Product Description

Features: Trace cables or wires and diagnose the break point. Test the continuity of cables or wires. Identify the state in the working telephone line. Transmit a single or alternating tone across cables or wires and receive signal with tone probe. Adjustable audio on tone probe. Includes RJ11 jack for telephones (also fits into RJ45 jacks) and alligator style clips for wires. Heavy-duty design for years of trouble free use. Includes nylon storage case. Includes batteries for both pieces.Technical Notes: Both ends of your cable must be disconnected from the signal source such as power, video, data or telephone connections or you will send the transmitter tone across your entire network. This will result in a very short distance for the transmitter tone to be sent. The receiver probe must be able to make contact with the bare wire on the opposite end of the cable you are transmitting the tone on. Therefore, this kit will not work for finding wiring inside walls or buried underground cables that you cannot touch the bare wiring with the receiver probe.
